Aktion Club- Where development has no disability.
Aktion Club is the only service club for the adults with disabilities where members become competent, capable, caring leaders through the vehicle of service. It is a service leadership program of Kiwanis international and is open to any adult, age 18 years or older, with a disability and has an interest in performing community service and having fun. Many club members have developmental disabilities.
The Ohio District of Kiwanis encourages full inclusion and is considering starting an Aktion Club for high school students with disabilities in transition. Volunteer opportunities can enhance a high school student’s social, leadership and work skills that can be continued after graduation.
